IB Acronyms
Adum K-8 Magnet is an IB Candidate school. The curriculum will have an International Studies focus. The school is currently in the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate world school.

IB Learner Profile = The 10 attributes the IB program seeks to foster in its students: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced, and Reflective. Learn more about the IB Learner Profile traits here!
IMSOM = Internationally Minded Student of the Month. Each month, each PYP classroom and MYP homeroom votes for the one student in their class who best exemplifies that month’s IB characteristic (see IB Learner Profile above for more info). IMSOM awardees receive a certificate and treat.
MYP = Middle Years Programme. This is the name for the IB curriculum Adum K-8 uses in the middle school grades (6th – 8th grades).
PYP = Primary Years Programme. This is the name for the IB curriculum Adum K-8 uses in the elementary school grades (Kindergarten – 5th grade).
